Adam Velebír
Adam grew up in Bardejov, Slovakia. He was involved there in the local Lutheran church since his childhood, because his parents served there as pastors. He decided to follow Christ after his confirmation and, since 2013, has been involved in serving at camps with Bardejov youth teams. He first encountered Josiah Venture (JV) Slovakia when he attended one of their conferences for youth leaders.
While studying film at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Adam was part of the university youth teams in two local churches. In 2023, he volunteered for the livestream service at KPM, where the possibility of joining the JV team first came up. He was aware that media can be used as a powerful tool to communicate with today’s youth and felt called to use the skills gained during his studies to spread the gospel among the youth of Slovakia.
At the beginning of 2024, he decided to listen to God’s calling and joined JV Slovakia. He was part of the Communications team that creates graphic and audiovisual materials within the organization. He moved to Košice, where he is involved in the Košice Lutheran church and is part of the high school youth team “RESTART.” Since the beginning of this school year, he has become involved in the POINT Online project, where his role will be to bring the project to youth leaders and young people in Slovakia through social media and other media channels.
