Albania

General Description

In Romans 15:19 Paul is speaking of his journeys that have gone from Jerusalem around to Illyricum, …that is where Albania is. This is a place that throughout much of its history has been a gate between the East and West, both religiously and in route (the Via Egnatia runs through the middle of Albania). In Albania you will be involved in building up the local church, helping church planters, reaching young people and working among Muslims.

Your time will be spent with youth ministries and conducting English camps around Albania. You will build relationships with many young people who may have never met a Christian before. You will be challenged in all areas of ministry: evangelism, leadership, administration and serving. It will be a challenging and rewarding summer together and we look forward to what God has in store.

May 24 – August 15, 2016

Cost

$3,400 (includes training, administration, in-field travel, food, and lodging) plus airfare (approximately $1,400-1,600).
You will additionally need to secure international health insurance coverage. You will also have the opportunity to choose to raise an additional $2000 towards a stipend, which will be paid to you after the completion of the internship.

Support

The support raising deadline is May 1. Once the $100 deposit is received, the JV office will open an account and the intern will receive a username and password to access their account online. The account will be updated once a week. These donations are tax deductible and should be made payable and mailed to the JV office. Donations made payable to Josiah Venture cannot be transferred to the ministry of another organization or used for educational purposes, nor can they be returned to the donor.

Travel

International flights will be arranged through Josiah Venture after the first $500 of support is raised by the intern. Costs differ, depending on your departure city. A visa is not required.

Insurance/Vaccinations

Overseas health insurance coverage and up-to-date tetanus shot required.

Location

Various cities and camp facilities in your country of service.

In-Field Transportation

Cars, trains, trams, buses, walking, etc.

Withdrawal

The $100 deposit will be refunded (application fee is non-refundable) if the JV office is notified before March 10. If withdrawal is made on or after March 11, the deposit will not be refunded. Regardless of the withdrawal date, the intern is responsible (through donations received or personally) for any airfare cost already incurred by JV for the internship. All these donations will remain with Josiah Venture.
